Call His Name

Psalms 20
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
May He send you help from the sanctuary,
And strengthen you out of Zion;
May He remember all your offerings,
And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.
We will rejoice in your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
They have bowed down and fallen;
But we have risen and stand upright.

Save, Lord!
May the King answer us when we call

In 1989 in the state of Arizona I took a 10 year plea deal knowing I had to get my life together if I were ever going to find true happiness.  Then after 2 ½ years of being locked away on a minimum custody yard I had myself reclassified to maximum security where I was locked down 23 hours a day so I could write my family’s story.  I was hoping to bring peace to our lives by generating a sum of money since that seemed to be the only way to make them happy.  But after my release in 1994 with my dream and a first draft copy of my manuscript, I came back to a family who could care less about my vision or even me. So on my way back to prison 8 months later I had to call on the name of our Lord if I was ever going to figure out life and how to get myself into heaven which I believed was there.  Taking that belief, I had to also begin to put faith behind it. But failing a number of times as I did, I kept getting right back up wanting to please both my biological Dad and my Father God who I knew were both up there rooting me on.   Jesus Christ and Father God did everything in one way or another to prove they wanted me home.  In test after test, and trial after trial, since it seemed that I just couldn’t leave satan alone completely.  I always believed in my heart God knew I was trying but it’s hard to love people who don’t want to be loved sincerely.  And God keeping me alive long enough to figure that out, He has now become my knight in shining armor.  God means every word of what He says about not leaving us or forsaking us.  He will stick closer than a brother and love us like a mother hen loves her chicks He states.  But we have to want Him and His  blessing’s love Him and His truth.  So speak, sing, and stand on this, calling on His name always.  Believe me, He will answer you.

Bless all who call on the name of our God,

Vincent Young, Christian Analyst.
