One Mind, One Heart, One Spirit

Acts 6:1-7

In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Hellenistic Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.
So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

The disciples multiplying verse 1 says, is music to God's ear.  Then when the complaint arose against the Hebrews the disciples didn't try to figure it out in their multitude of bible knowledge, they took it to the church and the church acted upon it.  God asks us to do all things without complaining.  However they were in agreement about what the word of God said.  And the disciples grew even more.  What we are put here to do is multiply, multiply love, smiles, harmony, and good God fearing love.  I did have a problem with verses 2-3 when the disciples summoned the other disciples stating they couldn't serve the people, Jesus Christ said He came to serve, not to be served.  Still, the text is clear.  Their entire system and laws stood in agreement to the word of God.  Our world would find great peace today if we were to all fall in line.  God's word says strive for nice, quiet, peaceful lives, so where are we at within ourselves?  that we fall so short in comparison?  The Holy Spirit is inside of us ready to give great knowledge and wisdom.  To help us into our inheritances and find the awesome peace that surpasses all understanding.  However, if serious prayer, fasting, tithing, and sincere love don't begin to operate in our lives today we will continue to be distraught, trapped in lives and a world that can have no happy ending.  Become obedient to the faith.  God says, without faith it is impossible to please Him.  One heart, one mind, one spirit is what it takes to rain down the blessings.

Blessing all as we come together in one heart, one mind, one spirit for our God,
