"The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside!
I shall be slain in the streets!”
14 The mouth of an immoral woman is a deep pit;
He who is abhorred by the Lord will fall there.
He who is abhorred by the Lord will fall there.
15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;
The rod of correction will drive it far from him.
The rod of correction will drive it far from him.
16 He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches,
And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty."
And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty."
Verse 13 says, "The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!” I watched my mother growing up here in Los Angeles, and I always found it strange, with the investment capital she had to invest, she could only find time to sleep and shop. She had the looks, clothes, furs, and diamonds, to get her in to any establishment in the city, but not the brains. I even thought it strange, that she had a fear of traveling the streets alone to find new and exciting things to do. Her social life was minimum, and she moved very precisely and carefully as if she were afraid of something. I watched this routine for 40 more years and it sent her to a early grave unhappy I know. Life can't be all about us and our happiness only. We are not allowed to control people, God's children, or oppress them. I watched this behavior blow up in my mother's face and kill her. Her mouth and actions were horrible at most times, and God abhorred it and she fell, as verse 14 tells. Verse 15 talks about not sparing the rod on your children. I don't believe my grandmother used the rod on my mother, because my mother only used it on me once. My mother had ways that were set in stone, and she was never able to learn and grow in the freedom of God. Verse 16 says, He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty." My mother stole a hundred thousand dollars from me at age 17, unbeknown, giving her two hundred thousand dollars cash to invest, she was a real estate agent at the time. However, with what little knowledge she had on life, she could only try and push her beliefs on me, and keep the bill collectors pockets padded instead of ours. Become rich in our Lord.
(John 10:7-11 ) "Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep."Blessings to all who store their riches in Christ to be blessed,
