Hebrews 4:4-10
"For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His."
It's sad to say that most of our world could care less about the Sabbath Day and how to utilize it. But we Christians are to care about everything God and our Lord care about. (Philippians 2:21) "For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus." We are God's temples and have been purchased at a price. We no longer belong to ourselves. God is trying to turn us in to holy vessels. That He might rest His Spirit upon us. As long as we try to build our lives and determine our own happiness. We will forever be out of the will, plan, and promise that God has for our lives. (Psalms 127:1) "Unless the Lord builds the house,They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain." We can do nothing without our Lord's guidance. Not even our high ranking officers. God does not look at us, as our world determines our worth. He has already placed the gift inside of us. Now it is up to us to let Him train it, for His use. (Romans 12:1-2) "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." God tell us in His word who we are. Then we are to help Him manifest this being before our world. This brings us true peace, rest, and happiness for our souls. Our Lord says, we clean the outside of the cup. But our insides are broken from relationships, and bad choices. Arrogance and pride consume us. Hoping that we might fit in. God says, His yoke is light and His burden easy. He is trying to assist us to a place of rest and peace. A peace that will destroy our adversaries. We are in the world, but not of it. God says, all things are ours. And whoever is faithful in little, will be faithful in much. Bring your mustard seed of faith to God. The rest it on His promises.
(2Peter 3:9) "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
(Deuteronomy 6:3) " Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the Lord God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey."
(Deuteronomy 1:11) " May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!"
Blessings to all who find His rest and promises,
