"Your country is desolate,
Your cities are burned with fire;
Strangers devour your land in your presence;
And it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 So the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard,
As a hut in a garden of cucumbers,
As a besieged city.
9 Unless the Lord of hosts
Had left to us a very small remnant,
We would have become like Sodom,
We would have been made like Gomorrah.
10 Hear the word of the Lord,
You rulers of Sodom;
Give ear to the law of our God,
You people of Gomorrah:
11 “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?”
Says the Lord.
“I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of fed cattle.
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
Or of lambs or goats.
You rulers of Sodom;
12 “When you come to appear before Me,
Who has required this from your hand,
To trample My courts?"
Who has required this from your hand,
To trample My courts?"
I can only speak for myself, in what I've witnessed and what I believe God is trying to get across to our ancestors here in this scripture. I was born in Los Angeles Ca. 1964. I grew up in a city that I could see prospering in my teens and I loved it. However, I must remember, I wasn't raised or taught what God really stood for. I was being raised in what my parents and world thought good and evil stood for. I've come to learn and only by the grace of God, is that, He has an entirely different out look for His world than what the masses or not believe it to be. Los Angeles was a vibrant city spreading what I thought to be sincere love. Then the drugs came in and satan played his hand on all, and the aftermath today is heartbreaking. I also believe the acts we played upon one another during these horrific times, God is punishing us by earthquakes and fires etc. The city was broken down, and all are coming today to stake their claim. God bless them. A besieged city, L.A. And without the true word of God, my city won't see that kind of love again. Righteousness and justice for all must prevail from us. A sincere love for God and man must shine through, this is what God calls for and what He stands for. He says, His throne has been established in heaven and earth is His footstool. He also says, His kingdom rules over all kingdoms. We can't examine our world and God too. He is our world, is what He wants us to understand and all that is in it. Only love for God can take you through your day and journey. Love DAD.
(Philippians 3:9-11)... "and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead."
Blessings to all who really love DAD, He loves you,
Vincent Young, Christian Analyst.
