Slaves For Holiness

Romans 6:15-19

"What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness."

It is one or the other the scripture tells.  Verse 16, We are either slaves leading to righteousness, or slaves leading to death.  God represents living life for righteousness and justice, which will lead us into our inheritance.  satan represents fleshly pleasing, immoral minds, and things leading to physical death.  God heals, delivers, and prospers from glory to glory.  satan walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may steal, kill and destroy.  We are either slaves to God who commands obedience and peace, or satan, who is for war and death.  Our world is completely broken today by what the word of God says and commands.  We His children have not grown up biblically in the mind to the God who runs this planet.  We are playing with spirits, principals, and principalities in the heavenly realm, that has us killing one another mind, body, and spirit.  Verse 17, but God be thanked that though our ancestors were slaves to sin, and obeyed from the heart a form of doctrine, that they were set free from by the dying and raising of Jesus Christ.  We too must now take on the doctrine of the word of God, to conquer and set ourselves free.  Father God says, His Son did it, and so can we.  (Philippians 4:13)  " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  Verse18-19 says, And since we have been set free, we are to now be slaves of righteousness, showing God that we can humble ourselves and learn to be like our Brother and King.  We are to submit and humble to God as Jesus did, killing our flesh daily.  Paul says, he speaks in human terms because of the weakness of our flesh.  There have been movies made where we've seen slaves being obedient to their masters.  It is now our turn to seriously get down on our knees and repent for forgiveness.  Always remember, a inheritance comes along with this obedience.  Become slaves for holiness.

(Hebrews 12:3)  "For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin."

Blessings to all who die to sin and live for Christ,
