Become Pure

Proverbs 22:11-12

He who loves purity of heart
And has grace on his lips,
The king will be his friend.
12 The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge,
But He overthrows the words of the faithless.

When will the day come that all will know that our words and heart determines our future in the sight of God?  He who loves purity of heart and grace on another's lips will draw the Lord close to us verse 11 says.  We ourselves must become pure in heart and word.  We should only want to entertain those who do likewise.  God is full of righteousness and justice so we must be also.  All the prison time I did and all the conversations I heard while there and on our streets led me to believe that life was definitely in the power of the tongue.  I had not yet given myself to our Lord, but I knew I didn't want to dream with people who had no goals, and no outlook on life to make our situations better.  Brokenness was all around me.  I concluded this from reading my bible and wanting to establish a true relationship with God.  I also knew that if I were ever going to interact with God, I'd have to clean up my ways and my conversations with others.  We know right from wrong.  I believe the Holy Spirit inside of us confirms that, weather our parents or peers ever did.  I also told myself after dropping out of high school, with very little education, I would have to be the best friend to others, if I were ever going to have a lasting friendship that could grow.  My heart has been completely broken by others who I tried to build honest friendships with.  I've witnessed every type of lowdown thing the mind can conceive.  So I determined if I didn't draw closer to God I would never have a true friend.  I've watched God do amazing things as He taught me to love these people away from me.  Our hearts must become pure and our words sincere before God will ever take a step in saving us from ourselves.  Become pure.

(Matthew 5:8) "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God"

Blessings to all as we build true and lasting relationships with God and man,
