Train Up Your Child

Proverbs 22:15
Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;
The rod of correction will drive it far from him.

God says, "Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him."  This is why we see children, even toddlers getting in to all kinds of mischief.  They are curious, and everything interests them. This is what makes our bible work and succeed when we train a child up in God's ways and chastise them in the admonitions of our Lord. Their minds are free, ready to be molded and strengthened in whatever we feed them.  Their innocent and naïve, minds that have been ushered in by God to be built and established on His word.

( Psalms 127:3-5)  "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate."

(Ephesians 6:1-4)  Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

But when relationships and one night stands that haven't been ordained by God, and most of our relationships today have not been, we mold and train our children to what we feel best for them. Some not being trained at all but to stay out of the parents way.  When we let our world invent "time outs" for our children, this removed all righteous discipline away from the parents and God.  This giving the child full reign over the parents today.  So chaos is now in our midst.  God rules and God has a plan for all His children.  But if parents today don't pick up their bible and become adults again in their own homes, madness will continue from generation to generation.  (1 Corinthians 13:11) "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things."   Train up your child.

(Proverbs 22:6) "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

Blessings upon blessings to all who train their children up in the love and admonition of God,

Vincent Young, Christian Analyst.
